GFR measurement service

The Laboratory of Renal Function (LFR) has developed during the last years a method to measure renal function: the clearance of iohexol using DBS sampling.

This approach to GFR determination has been validated in clinical and preclinical models (rodents, swine and sheep).

The clearance of iohexol-DBS is simple, reproducible, safe and has a reduced cost. All in all the method represents a huge advance in the evaluation of renal function in day-to-day clinical practice, clinical and basic research.

LFR provides iohexol-DBS to research groups and companies working in clinical and pre-clinical studies of renal diseases.
